The guest speaker for our October meeting will be crossing the border from Ku-ring-gai to explain how we can use UK Gazettes as a genealogy research tool. This talk was very well received when Jenny Joyce presented it at the National Congress in Canberra last year.
Jenny Joyce has been a genealogist for the past 35 years, first as a hobby researching her own family, and for the past eight years as professional researcher, lecturer, teacher and writer. She has been writing a genealogy blog since 2010 (jennyalogy.blogspot.com) and records an occasional podcast (jennyalogypodcast.blogspot.com). Jenny is the President of the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society, and a member of its family history committee. Together with core genealogy, Jenny has a deep interest in DNA in relation to genealogy, paleography and historical photography.
Members and guests are welcome to join us for this event at Hornsby Central Library on Wednesday 19 October at 2:00pm.
